Vince Young was born May 18, 1983 in Houston, Texas. He has constantly been called a great athlete, and this stems back to his early career. Standing 6 foot 5 inches and 230 pounds, it is easy to see why Young is just one of the most effective quarterbacks in the world. When you integrate this with a high degree of athleticism and a rocket arm, Young was very difficult to beat.
Young played his high school football at Madison Secondary school in Houston for head instructor Ray Seals. During his secondary school years, Young started for three years, and throughout that time accumulated 12,987 yards. With stats like this, it is very easy to see why Young might have opted to go to any kind of university in the entire nation. Young likewise contended in track and basketball while in senior high school.
After high school, Young went to the University of Texas in 2002. He redshirted his first year which provided him the chance to discover the whole playbook. In his very first period in college, Young played in 12 games and began seven of them. As a sophomore, he emerged as a real quarterback and led the Longhorns to an 11-1 record.
Young led the Longhorns to a Championship game in his junior season. During this year, he passed for more than 3,000 yards, and ran more than 1,000. This was good enough to take home 2nd place in the Heisman Trophy.
After his junior year, Young was eligible for the 2006 NFL Draft. He was chosen with the 3rd pick by the Tennessee Titans. During his initial year in the NFL, Young passed for a little over 2,000 yards and ran for over 500. He played in the NFL for six seasons and with four other teams after the Titans. Young retired in 2014.
